Responding to the Christian claim that Judaism is lacking because it has no additional books like the New Testament.
Q. Why Judaism is not an “incomplete” Religion, as christians claim saying that is because it lacks of other books and of the new testament?
The Christian Bibles are clearly not the original, and the many different editions, which include a super-varied list of books (ranging in number from 66 to 81!!) and numerous translations (often mistaken), themselves prove that they are not of Divine origin, and the Christians know that (otherwise they would relate a lot more seriously to what’s canonized and what’s not!). The Christians often adopted various “outside books”, which were never considered holy, even in their own time by the Jews themselves! The intensive study of our original 24 holy books in the Written Law, has been the daily preoccupation of millions of religious Jews (the “People of the Book”) for thousands of years, where every single letter is counted, and leaves no possibility whatsoever, for anyone at any time or place, to suggest a “varied edition”, adding other, un-G-dly, material or books, especially when we were spread throughout the world in many far-flung communities (who would not have heard of any such changes). Plato, Aristotle, Charles Dickens and Mark Twain wrote very nice books, but no one would consider them holy, and it’s laughable to think that the Jewish Bible is “missing” (!) something without them.
